Shredded Mimosa Hostilis Root Bark (MHRB)
Finely shredded Mimosa Hostilis inner root bark. Our root bark is imported from Bahia, Brazil and it is also known as Jurema Preta, Tepezcohuite and Mimosa Tenuiflora (MHRB). This shredded MHRB is dark but not as dark as the finely powder version. In addition, it is not as dense (it weights less than powder given the same volume).
This inner root bark is packed immediately after being shredded in order to keep its freshness and is always kept in a dry and cool place. Our shredded bark is FINELY SHREDDED, this means that it contains a high percentage of powder, in this case it is around 70%. Our shredding process is done with a hammer mill using a 5mm mesh to ensure most parts of the root bark are grinded into a combination of powder and small fibers.
Our offerings include not only the shredded form but also the mimosa hostilis root bark powder, catering to a diverse range of uses from medicinal applications to natural dyeing processes. Recognized for its significant role within the realm of Medicinal Roots, the jurema preta root bark is celebrated for its therapeutic properties. Whether in powdered form or as finely shredded bark, this versatile root offers a natural solution for those seeking holistic health benefits, tying back to ancient traditions of healing and wellness.
We shred our own root bark to ensure it is 100% pure and organic root bark and not trunk bark. We only offer the inner root bark from old Jurema Preta trees from Brazil. The root bark from old trees is richer in tannins than the root bark from younger trees; therefore, this bark is perfect for use as a natural dye and leather production. Not only does the root bark from old Jurema Preta trees has a higher tannin content, it is a little darker and thicker than bark from younger Jurema Preta trees.
Recommendations for storage: Keep in a cool and dry place, and avoid leaving any air inside the bag if storing for later use.
